I didn't put a US in front of any so we could include our friends to the north in the poll. You served your country. That's what matters.

That sure is a BFG. While I was in the TxArNG I was in an 133rd FA doing the Btn commo. We had the "older" M109s. You could atleast ride inside the 109's. The new guns that are in use now are pretty dang sweet, self loading, almost self aiming....... heck they damn near drive themselves.

I trained on M109 at Fort Sill. Would be nice and warm in winter, but would be a MOFO in summer.
The M110 was phased out in the mid 90s and replaced with MLRSs(multi launch rocket systems)

Yep the 109's did get a bit on the warm side during the summer.
The MLRS sure is a site during a night battery live fire.

My brother was on the Kitty Hawk back in the late 60s. Yes, almost 40 years ago. A good friend of ours, Lana, is on her as I write this. She is the one anesthesiologist onboard, and just became a shellback. The Kitty Hawk was just here on Guam a couple of weeks ago. Too bad the Kitty Hawk is scheduled to be decommissioned soon.

Thank you for your service and tell your brother and your friend "Thank You" as well. We all appreciate your service. :stars:

Not much sir. Trying to get a few rides in between the rain. So far this week I have gotten maybe 45 minutes. Not what I hoped for but at least it helps in keeping the tires round. FYI to all, Iraq is hot, sandy and bright. Oh and sometimes they shoot at you, but the other three are my primary complaints.

I was over in gypo land in the early 90's so I know the bright, hot, and sandy. Didn't get shot at though. Keep your head down and make it back in one piece.

I guess you learned the part about keeping your head down. Glad to know that.
