I finally went to the range last weekend to try out my Christmas presents to myself. That was so much fun, even if I did have to go by myself. It felt kind of funny walking in alone with my gun case and the place was full of men. Not that I should have expected anything different. Especially since the parking lot was full of pick-up trucks. :lol
I didn't spend a long time there. I mainly just wanted to see 1) whether I had the guts to actually go by myself, and 2) what the guns felt like to shoot. I fired the XD-9 first. It surprised me with a BIG flash of fire that I didn't remember seeing with the Glock. But it felt good. I like it. And it shot accurate. Then I tried the .38 revolver (SW642). With the first shot, I think I might have said a dirty word out loud. That sucker hurt! The trigger takes a lot more pressure, which made me a little shakey, and then the thing kicked like a mule. Not too bad...I mean it's only a .38, but enough so that I was "done" after only 20 rounds with it. I know, I'm a wuss. I tried out the laser on the last 5 rounds. It looked cool, but I could do just well without it... at least in the well-lit range.
I did well though. Scored 100... again. I only had 1 shot in the 8 circle, 13 in the 9, and all the rest were within the center circle. I only had the target set at 15' and then 25'. Next time I'll try further out.
