I was just talking to a guy in my office building. We just found out each other rides. He was telling me about a friend of his who went to Florida 5 years ago for one of the bike rallies. His leather jacket was tied onto the back of his bike as he enjoyed the warm weather. The jacket came undone and got into his spokes causing him to crash. He is now in a wheel chair for the rest of his life and mumbles a lot.
Be carefull.

I've always tied my leather or my rifle up front where I can keep my eyes on it. Christmas trees go on the back.

I guess that's the reason I ride a bagger. Sad to hear about such an accident.

My friend was luckier. Coming back from South Padre, his jacket went into the wheel in San Antonio. He wasn't hurt much at all and his bike made it through relatively unscathed. It was a very quick stop from highway speed 'though.

I had a towel that was on my back seat come loose. It was under a cargo net. It got wedged in the front sprocket, locked the back wheel up for a second. Scared the crap out of me at 75mph.

I'm always paranoid of something like that happening when I'm carrying stuff, so I make sure EVERYTHING is well secured.
