Hi Steve.
I want a new hobby and it is getting into ATVs.
I think I want a Honda TRX400 EX with reverse, got to have the reverse.
What kind of 4 wheeles do you and the bride have?
Do I want water cooled or not?
The 400 is air cooled.
:MistleToe: love you, man:MistleToe:

Hi Mark,

Merry Christmas to the 'Cuda family!

Vesta and I (and the boys) have been through a ton of 3 wheelers and quads. Right now we have a pair of Polaris 500cc Scramblers. Automatic Trans with reverse, and about 10" of suspension. My GPS says they go at least 60 mph. I was very reluctant about the auto trans until I rode it. If I slide my 250 lb. ass back on the seat it will wheelie, slide forward and I can side slide from a dead stop. They are water cooled, 4 stroke, single cylinder. I got water cooled because it is brutally hot on the desert in the summer, although we rarely ride them in the summer now......the Seadoos are too much fun. We have had air and water cooled, either worked very well. We have had them 6 years, beat the hell out of them and never had a problem. Riding here is a bit different than back there. We run mostly desert, lots of sand, and dry river beds. No trees to bump into!

I've had a couple of Hondas, 3 and 4 wheel. Also beat them badly and never had any problems. Good luck, quads are a major kick in the ass!

Merry Christmas to you also:MistleToe:
I just think that the 4 wheelers would be a blast.
About 2 hours from us, there is a 700 acre ATV park where you pay for a day and can ride all you want.
I just think they are cooler than hell
My luck, I'll brake my neck:pumpkin:

Looks a lot like our Polaris units. Like Eagle said, we never had any troubles with any Honda we owned. For 5 months of the year they were either on or off, beat the hell out of them, let them sit for 4 or 5 months, charge the batteries, give them a shot of starting fluid and off we go again.

I wear a back grace, kidney belt, off-road boots and a good helmet. There is so much desert around our Arizona house that I take a GPS along. Got lost the first time we went out there. You won't be sorry. Sue Cuda getting one also??? You kind of need a partner if you get crazy on one of these.

I am definatly a Polaris Fan aswell, we have 2 of them. We have had great luck with ours. We camp and quad in the Rocky's quite a bit. In Crowsnest Pass we have over 4,000 miles of trails we can ride, and they are awsome trails. Click on the thumbnail below to see some great pics of the mountains where we ATV. It ain't the type of ATV'ing you guys are talking about, we get into some serious mud, hills, stream crossing, muskeg ect. It's pretty slow going but it sure is a lot of fun

DAMN...........i was about to talk myself into trading the WideGlide in for two 4 wheelers for me and Unchained untill i saw the "nasty" pictures...YUCK~
Let me see, If I trade I will need a trailer, a truck to pull it, something with a shower so i can clean up after i get dirty, new clothes that can get dirty, a place to ride, friends to ride with and gas and food!!!~

That is what Mrs. Bear and our 15year old daughter thought as well, untill they tried it. Once they tried it, they were hooked bigtime

If you ain't getting dirty, you ain't doing it right :banana2:

Outstanding pix!

We have had 4 wheel drive units, 3 wheelers, and a couple of 2 wheel bikes with ATC tires. All Fun! I guess my only advantage is living in or near the desert, we can get stuck in sand, not mud. Don't get wet that way. There were times when the kids were small we rode right after a rain storm, found some clay pits and had a great time. Back to the motor home for an outside hose-off and then the showers.

Big Boy toys are a kick in the ass!

Clothes, people and machines wash, pain is fleeting and chicks dig scars :banana2:. You don't have to get that dirty, we just choose to because it is fun :241:. We go looking for stuff like that because it is a challange. If Mrs Bear or the kid is along, we don't go that extreme.

Which brings up another thought, when you buy that quad, find a relatively cheap pressure washer. We used to stop at a car wash to soap the scoots down on the way home. A lot easier blasting them in the garage.

wait a minute, did I say quad, as in singular????? Gotta get SueCuda a toy too! And lets not forget Cudette!

If and I say if this new hobby is going to last, I want to get Sue a Honda Ricon 680:banana2:
Steve, I like the boat trailer conversion for the quads:+1:

Ya, it saves garage space. Summer it is too hot for the quads, but great Seadoo weather. Winter we put the Seadoos on maintenance dollies, take the boat bunks off the trailer and put the ramps on.
