Just remembering when I was on that road. There are some places that losing control for just an instant would be fatal. Wildlife ion those hills is plentiful. The morning we left Gunnison, there was an elk in the middle of the road that looked like it had met an 18 wheeler...it was still steaming in the morning coolness. Then I had visions of rover and my collision when a coyote (or wolf- it was quick) came running down a hill and jammed on the front paw brakes just before the road as I went by. Coming down the deer road, there are places where there is just a sheer wall on one side and a drop off for a long way down without benefit of shoulder on the other. Saw lots of critters on that road, too. It's a beautiful ride, but it is one where constant vigilence is a must..obviously.

Yes, luck...and skill.

I'm guessing that it is a mule deer. Can't tell for sure. Seems to be pretty decent size...yikes.

I'd hate to be the one to clean that bike. . .

The bike would be easier compared to his pants.

From the link: "Another lesson, and one that I feel very strongly about, is clearly illustrated here...that is...until the bike is actually down, never quit riding it. Sure, luck played a part, but make no mistake. This bike stayed up and the rider and pillon walked away simply because the pilot never quit flying it."

Some of the wisest works I have seen on the internet for some time...
