Hi guys, 31 and dry here for the moment. We've got another blast of winter coming this afternoon, weather assholes predict 2 to 4 inches of the white crap by tomorrow sometime. That means more salt, sand, and days not ridden. This is really starting to look like global cooling around here, it's the middle of April and the sh!t keeps coming.:mad:

Supposed to be REAL bad weather tonight. Has all those RVrs at TMS for the NASCAR race worried. Over 60,000 camping from what the news says and I believe it. Rode through there yesterday and that place is packed with humanity.

One really strong straight-line wind or a small tornado and you'll see a bunch of rednecks on TV "It sounded like a freight train commin through an it lifted the whole trailer up. If'n it twern't for my dog Buford howlin and a wakin us all up sos'n we could get in the ditch for cover, Hell, we'd all be dead........ Oh ya, Hi Mom!!"

Mornin all, the storms of last week created havoc around my neighborhood on Friday. We received 5" of snow and a thunderstorm at the same time. A lightening strike at my next door neighbors left their attic smoldering and a small fire and a bunch of smoke damage to the upper floor. Most of the electrical circuits of the house were affected. Some of the lightening evidently went underground to my house as well. I received minor damage from it, including my furnace, one television, and my internet service. Repair persons (pc for the ladies around here) are on their way hopefully.

Fortunately the neighbors got out of the house okay and no one was hurt. Most of their possessions are okay, just a little smoky. House will need to be rewired, no structural damage. They have a hole in the roof where the lightening entered from a tree limb just above, the large maple tree received a lot of limb damage when the bolt hit.

Whiner,:whistling1: it's 42 here this a.m. with heavy fog, but the rain has quit and the wind just might stay down to a manageable level today. The snow:snowman2: finally melted a couple days ago, the weather shows a warming trend into next week, so we may hit west coast type temperatures by then.

Glad to hear your at least riding some, Ron. I'm almost finished with all the lightening repairs to the house, got the furnace / ac up and going last night with a new pc board and some timing issues with the fan. Tonight I get to tackle my internet connection problems and put in a new wireless router.:1274:

Trying to get things done before the weekend gets here, we're headed to an American Legion rally in Enid, Ok. for some cold beverages and a charity run or two. Looks like a good time with babes, bikes, and live music.

Had 4 tacos for breakfast then rode to LA-LA-land for a Carney's Hot Dog for lunch....got home and babysat the newest rugrat so wife could go shopping...food, ride and kid...pretty good Saturday...and NO HONEY-DOs.....

Some of these bikes rode 5 1/2 hours from Phoenix just to have a hot dog and then ride back home....

The shovelhead is in pieces and the electra glide is being ridden a little. It needs some valve lifter adjustments before I get it out on some long runs, I'm workin on that right now.

Weekend looks good out west...Laughlin River Run...come on DNM and PB...just a little road trip.....Beautiful sunny day after wind and crap off and on for a week....rode to work and a little parts running, then had to park the bike for serious parts run...the freeway is already filling up with bikes...wish my riding partners could get off earlier, we can't leave until Friday AM...my bike is pack already......all I need to do is pickup some $$$ at the ATM and riding pants and boots...Friday can't come soon enough...

Got home yesterday afternoon from the Laughlin River Run...found fresh black oil on the bottom of my engine...this bike has 40k on it and has never even seeped oil at the seams....so not sure what that is about...I get to do some looking today now that the bike has cooled...

I will never come down I40 on a Sunday again...I have vacation for today and planned to return home on Monday, but my riding partner had to be home for work...miserable slab miles and construction taking the freeway down to one lane for several STOP/GO miles...bike heated up a bunch but I have been in stop/go before and heated it up so not sure if that contributed to the oil....

We can lane share in Kaliforny, but tooooo many f*%# nuts out yesterday for me to chance it....so I stayed with traffic and cooked...

BTW, it was 100* in Laughlin and surrounding areas....

No, it has been paid off for a couple years....it has never seeped a drop of oil...it didn't mark its spot in my garage, but it did puke oil all over the bottom of the engine and rear swingarm.....

Well, I spent 3 hours of my day off cleaning the bike and looking for the leak....looks like the Primary Inspection Gasket let go in the extreme heat cycles I put the bike through....probably partially my fault...I reused the Primary Inspection Gasket, which I have done in the past without incident and the gasket looked good when I did some work on the bike just before leaving..but heat and metal expansion/contraction can kill gaskets...

Hope that is all it was....it is hot now may have to wait and take an evening ride....gotta check my work, is that not correct??? :nansplit: :nansplit:

Mornin all, wet here again with rain. Flash flood watches out for southeastern part of the state today because it's raining. Forecast is calling for rain the rest of the week with no let up until maybe Wednesday next week. That puts us about 15 or 16 days from 40 days and nights of rain. Oh, did I mention it was raining here. F'n crap, maybe I'll concede that I should have rode more when it was freezing cold instead of this.:badmood:

The Hill Country Ride rally was going on in Fredericksburg, and Cinco De Mayo added to the color with several car shows. We mostly rode the roads less travelled to avoid the crowds.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for the first weekend in May next year.

Just about, I was with my girlfriend last night in Mcpherson (about 30 miles north of Mount Hope) when the tornado sirens went off. False alarm though, just a little hail and some 40 mph winds with rain.

Your right, Greensburg is about 100 miles west of us here. Residents there are going to have a long road to hoe just to get that town back and running again.
I feel for them and hope they succeed.

Dang, sounds like us at this time last year. This year so far we've been getting LOTS of rain. Almost all of the lakes here are back to normal level. Rained last night again and still pissin in the wind this am.

Anybody got a boat with a v-twin in it, I may need one the way this crap is going.:scuba: The Arkansas (that's "our Kansas" for you Arkansawyers)River went out of it's banks yesterday just north of town here. The corp of engineers put in a levy system to help control the water, but it breeched that last evening and is spreading out farther. Some folks are surrounded by water and their basements are starting to fill up. Luckily Mount Hope is above the flood plain and we have a raised 4 lane highway between the river and us, so I doubt if we see any flooding in town.

:tank:Better send in the National Guard, oh, I think we have a shortage of troops and trucks according to our govenor. Oh well, if this keeps up maybe we might need the Coast Guard instead.:071:

It is morning here and sun is already up in the rest of the USA....so get up and make some COFFEE...

The weather is grand and the coffee is dark and drinkable...

Yeah this is a HD website, but I also ride the OTHER American Motorcycle and the factory demo trailer is is town...the same one they used at Laughlin so I get another look at that butt-ugly Vision tourer...but may put some miles on a demo bike...they aren't allowing demos on the Visions as they only have 4 or so of them as prototypes..

How was the trip?

It's amazing the lack of technical knowledge that exists at some of these places..... Other than that it went ok. I got there right at 10:00 and left at 2:03. Got done what needed to be done and a little extra 'cause I'm such a nice guy.:)

It was a long day though. I ended up getting home at 7:30, ate, took a shower, had a glass of scotch, checked in on the web, and went to bed. I were tired.

And today I've spent the last 5 1/2 hours mowing and trimming my yard. Supposed to rain again later on this afternoon.

Mornin you redneck sumbritche, hope you have a good one today. I took a long weekend to ride in a parade with the American Legion in Mcpherson, Kansas on Friday and did some miles with the GF on Saturday plus a lot of lawn work and clean up. The weather stayed beautiful all weekend, that in itself was a miracle. :banana1:

Looks like the rain is going to stay away until tomorrow and today looks warm and a little windy, but I can deal with that.:071:

finally got to ride in today. been giving a coworker a ride into work and scoots scare the hell out of him so I've bee drivin the wife's cage.

brisk 60 this am friggin marvelous! I think what I appreciate the most about riding after not riding for a few days is the smells, good, bad, and sometimes absolutely horible. they're all better on a scoot!

Last September, I proved you could drag an Ultra's floorboard while driving in a straight line...nice thunder storm in NE AZ...never, never, never want to ride in such crosswinds again...

We are having a stiff breeze here today but just a breeze...nice riding today as most in Kaliforny.........we have the Governator that rides...weather wouldn't dare cross Arnold....


I too had a trying day...end of year spending...don't you love gummit and edumicashun...district ordered a bunch of euqipment with end of year State tax $$$...truck load arrived yesterday, but they emailed us and warned us..another truck arrived today with $30K in desktop computers without warning and I didn't have warehouse space...these machines were to be placed in a school 3 miles away...the driver refused to drive to the other site...he said his boss wouldn't like it...I asked him how his boss will like to have to rewarehouse 4 pallet of computers cuz I am refusing shipment...leave my property...he decided that he could burn enough fuel to drive an extra 3 miles...:flipoff2:

Jim, I was wrong about the rain the other day. Towns to the north and west of me received 8 inches of rain yesterday. Should be flooding again today as all the water rushes downstream, not sure how bad it will get. The levies on the river were washed out the last big rainstorm we had here about 2 weeks ago. Hope it doesn't get out of it's banks like last time.

As for riding at a 45 degree angle, I think the bike would shut down before I got that far over.:oops:

Afternoon now...went out early to ride the mountain twisties...county has done a fair job cleaning up winter mess and potholes...good ride..came back out to the hiway and headed for a country kitchen cafe...2 miles up the road i see a Gold Wing with the seat off and not looking too good..

An Arkie, 1500 miles from home has fried a battery (20 miles from the nearest town)...Wing Rider had to take a B##ch ride on a Harley...got him a new battery and my truck...put the new battery in the bike and it purred like a kitten...

I did have to jab him a bit about taking a B##ch ride on a Harley...nice guy from Fort Smith...:roflmao1:

Rode the Hammer to work at oh dark thirty...found that my d#@# exchange server was locked from incoming mail....worked three d#@# hours unscrewing that just to have it start acting up again...called in the pro from one of the very good local companies...he is scratching his head also...neither of us can find the root cause...

And next week all the summer tear down and moving of equipment starts...the weather is fine but I am in a foul mood...and beer ain't helping....maybe I do need some rain...

Did have a short, nice ride home this afternoon to find that the transmission is out on the washer...it is old enough to send the wife to the store to buy new instead of me swapping out the transmission...no trannies in town and a week to get one...go buy new...and have them deliver and setup....
