Howdy folks...........happy monday to all!!!





Shortly after I typed and finished the beer, the doorbell rang....Probably the best thing I ever did in my career as a Deputy was standing at my front door with his wife and baby....I arrested his mother and put Him and his siblings in Protective Care....he has finished 2 hitches in the Army and is in the Army Guard...He is about to start college in Northern California...

His mother was a drunk/doper..we had many calls about her...that night she broke out a window while holding one of her babies in her arms...that tripped the scale...my partner took her to jail and I took the four kids into Protective Custody...he later reappeared in my life when my youngest daughter was in High School and in JROTC..Jason was also in JROTC...to say the least it was awkward the first time I saw him....he remembered me from that night and greeted me warmly....we have stayed in touch...so tonight as he was leaving town for the next part of his life, he came to see me....and show me his family...

Just got back from going out to dinner with them....so one of those night shifts out of 21 year career actually meant something.............

At least that's an easy fix. Mine went out a few years back. The oil cooler was in perfect position to make the job a PIA.

By them not having one in stock caused their mechs to get their hands dirty....and I saved money...if the mount was in stock last Saturday, I would have paid the $75 and put it on myself...but since I had to wait, then they can install it for the $50 deductible...and to my surprise, I arrived at 8AM and they were done at 9AM...maybe they wanted me gone....

My Sirius Radio went out today...I have an extra one of the 5VDC freebies they supply as I had bought a better 12VDC model with the higher FM modulator before the FCC cut them back...but I will have to pull the outer fairing and put a power socket in there....the cigarette/power cord appears to be glued or heat welded together...so no easy way to grab the input side and connect it with a Battery Tender SAE plug...and the mount for this radio is different..I may put it up on the inner fairing instead of on the tank like I have before....too bad they have to change things and you can just buy an exact replacement...then plug and play...

I installed an internal antenna (plugs in between the radio and the bike antenna) and pulled the wires through the fairing about a year ago. I don't even know why I did it. I've never played played it on the bike. I do use it in the truck.

Mostly we will be centered around Ricky's house as a base. I don't remember the motel info as I am staying at his house. Ms T has all of that info.

We'll be riding in on Friday, riding most of the day Saturday and heading out for home on Sunday. Seems like 12 or 15 bikes as I recall. It is the Fall Cloud Rider Run which we usually do in Junction but we tried to have it closer to some of you folks in the east so maybe Big Al and Darla, and Noodles and Cindy and others could come without having to go all the way to Junction.

The next Junction Run is still the first weekend in May.

It rained last night, and it has been cloudy all day today. Supposed to rain all evening again. I can't remember the last time we have had this much rain on the South Coast for so long...perhaps 3 days of no rain since June. The drought is officially over!

Just quit raining here and the sun is out. There is a cold front on the way and the low in the morning is supposed to be down to about 47°.
