Mornin all, I was away yesterday and I don't feel one bit guilty. I "had" to close on my old house, the buyer and his lender finally got their sh!t...........er.............uh..........money together so we could sign the final papers. We've been trying to get this done for 2 1/2 months, it was a government loan.:sterb041:


Jim, thanks for the good words for Dad and I. He is in real good spirits and hopes to go home in about two weeks or so. I've got my fingers crossed, he is getting good care from most of the nurses there. He has trouble with a couple of them, I think they are there just for the pay check. I know they mean well, but their attitudes really suck.

Hey all, they moved my Dad's dismissal from the care home up a couple of weeks. They are letting him go home next Wednesday. He will need a couple of weeks of Home Health coming in and dressing his burns, but at least he will be home in familiar surroundings with out all the nurses barking orders at him. He is looking forward to it. He says thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts everyone has expressed and the next time your in town, he'll have a cold beverage waiting for ya. lol

I can't wait to get him home as well, this has been an exhausting couple of months and I would like to take a break as well.

Mornin all, it is nasty here. Well, not quite as nasty as what they had in Oklahoma yesterday but nasty just the same. Rain, snow, sleet, and wind this morning, and 34 degrees to go with it.

Prayers going out for those that had to go through some of the rough weather yesterday to the south of us. Winter thunderstorms can get pretty bad as everyone can tell. We went through one of those about seven years ago on a February 13th. Tornadoes and heavy rain that ripped roofs off buildings and downed trees and power lines. I lost a bunch of shingles and a storm door glass broke with the flying limbs and crap.

Thanks guys, I've been giving him Renodryl (sp) (an arthritis medicine) and he responded a little bit. He was still in pain and I had to try something else, the cortisone will be my last effort. The vet said to give it a couple of days to see if it works, some dogs it works some it won't. Time will tell. He's a great dog and I hate to see him in pain, he has 13 1/2 years behind him.

Good morning, everyone. Just arrived home from Jackson. Had a nice trip, but now it's time to give the liver some rest. Ron, I ain't officially ROAD, but getting closer to being that way each day. I was "engineering support" for this conference...otherwise known as "keeper of the ice chest".
Had a nice visit with Bulldog last night and had a good time sitting in his garage sipping suds and watching a rerun of Full Metal Jacket...funny how amusing old military stuff can be. Also funny how much of R.Lee's dialog we both have memorized.
It's going to be nice to have my own bed under me again as well as not having to hack the hotel's wireless network for internet access.

Sitting here sipping coffee and reading emails and the forums....the bike is packed and ready to ride....in another hour I will head out and meet some other scooter trash for a run up the mtns...then lunch...then splitoff and head towards Death Valley to meet another rider....staying at a wide spot in the road just this side of Death Valley...advertises that its bar is stocked with over a 100 beers from around the world....

No moon to speak of...100 different beers and plenty of stars in the sky...see you all Sunday evening...(they do have wi-fi...but no way in hell am I taking the laptop..........)

BTW, it is 48*F....but weather guesser says I will get wet coming home Sunday...as long as there is clear skies tonight....

Lesson learned yesterday...do not mix crawfish with King Cake that has been sitting out...got me a nice case of food poisoning (and I am blaming the creme filling on the King Cake because I seem to be the only one surffering from this). Mornin all, 34 for a ride in this a.m. Supposed to get around 70 today for a high. Tomorrow is supposed to be 80 or so with winds in the 40 mph range. Can't decide if I want to put up with the wind, nah, I'll ride anyway.

We're headed to Bumpus HD so Meleia can pick out which motorcycle she wants. They have the Sportster deal going on through March 31st and she is leaning towards the 1200C. Good morning, everyone. too pretty to be at work, but here I am anyway. Got in a mile yesterday........my first mile in almost 2 years. Billy is trading his Ultra for a new '09 and I got invited to "say goodbye" to the old one. Told the girlfriend to stay home, I wouldn't be needing her last night...damn, it felt great to be riding again, even if it was only to the end of the street and back.
