At least the wind changed directions and blowing all the NoCal smoke back north...Kaliforny is burning up...

Last day of summer school so I told the staff I would bring donuts...as in several dozen...so I guess I will take the truck..Come on over darlin'. . .I'll take ya in. . .I have fudge. . . :Angel_anim:

I brought the gals at work their chocolate fix with donuts....now they can have a chocolate high and pester the crap out of the one male in the District Office (my boss....)..I am going to lock my office door and not answer the phone....

Like I said to you before..I have experience fudge and beer together and it was NOT a nice combo....

I need someone to buy the gas and pay the insurance.............

HIJACK.....has anyone checked operating cost of your scooter with curent gas prices???

I did the 3K trip and it cost $ 0.11/mile for gas...I haven't figure miles per gal...just added up fule costs and divided the mileage into it...

My rear tire cost me just under $250 installed outside of Yellowstone...I miscalculated the miles left on it...but I did get to scrub the last rubber off the tire on twisties....

Mornin everyone, 74 here on it's way to around 95 as well Tonya. The wheat harvest is progressing nicely here and I think it's about 80 % finished. This warm weather brings out the combines.

Time to get out the fireworks for the weekend. I'm smoking up some brisket and pork butt for sandwiches. I'm also going to smoke around a gallon of beans with a few added ingredients to warm them up a little. BYOB and a side dish if anyone is interested in attending.:fam02: Plenty of ice for the Crown as well.:241:

Sorry to hear your running down parts Ernie, throttle cables shouldn't be to hard to come by with all the different bike parts store in your area. A phone call or two and you should be good to go.

The cables weren't the problem Kenny. The throttle SHAFT broke off at the right screw that holds the butterfly. The shaft is not available by itself, but comes with the throttle body, a $172 part from the stealership. I located one for $100 at a motor shop. Even with the $20 in gas I spent looking around, I did OK.
The original problem was a code that says MAP sensor high. I replaced the sensor with no joy. Then Saturday night, I developed the throttle problem. After chasing down the TB, I replaced it, along with the intake manifold gaskets.
Happy happy joy joy! The bike runs great and no more codes.

Bottom line, If you're seeing a P0108 code, check for air leaks and replace the intake manifold gaskets for 6 bucks before spending 60 bucks on the MAP sensor, and by all means, don't keep putting it off or you can expect more and very expensive problems down the road.

Off to the hospital in a couple hours for a bone biopsy. With any luck, I get a negative for osteomylitus and I can get back to life as usual after 11 weeks of pain and poverty.

Well, everything is still intact after the artillery and mortar attack that happened here last night. Really lit up the skies and made the ground shake. Not much rain came out of it, but enough to make the damned grass grow and keep me awake most of the night with the booming. Who needs fireworks for the 4th when Ma Nature is around.

I couldn't get in until this afternoon.

The last couple of days I have not been on because I have been eradicating a worm on my computer that had gotten into my Norton. It was causing popups about every 15 seconds. It was so buried that I couldn't even uninstall Norton to get around it. Took me until last night to get it fixed.

Did the Malware Bytes program get it?

I ended up in Safe Mode and eliminating some things from the start up menu. I was able to delete Norton and then I downloaded AVG. So far, so good.

Actually, I rode this morning...looked out and I could see the moon and a few stars this morning so I rode the bike...we went over 200ppm the other day due to a fire in the mtns just east of me...but the upper winds must have shifted...sky is somewhat blue this morning...

Big Sur aqnd Hwy 1 will be the big losers this winter if we get rain...1 has slides on it every year...but after these fires...look out...1 will be closed a bunch this next year...(canx your vacation plans for Kaliforny for at least a year....)

BUT WE HAVE MTNs where the sky is clear and there are TWISTIES to ride....(also have Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi......sh#####t.........)

Going to a small rally this weekend in Hutchinson, Ks. This will be the second year for it, hope it gets a little larger than last years. There were around 4000 people attending last year.

I guess, for about two years now, I have quit referring to it as the Parts Department. I always call it the Order Department.

I went in for fork seals, dust seals, seal retainers, drain screws, damper screws and "O"rings for the fork caps. In stock, they had the "O"rings and the damper screws. Everything else had to be ordered.
Now those parts are used on every Sportster, Dyna and Softail (all 39mm forks) made between 1989 and 2003. Dontcha think they should have them in stock? You know why? they're cheap and damned few people would do the work themselves these days. $22.56 for parts, an hour and a half for labor, and 5 days at 2
$25/day storage while they order parts. They got chrome goodies (impulse items) out the wazoo, but parts?

Afternoon...got the rugrat granddaughter, so no riding but we did have fun washing the trucks....thought about having her help me wash the bikes....decided the trucks were safer...

Possibility of a t-storm...had one up in the area of the fire and caused a flashflood..this next fall/winter is going to be ugly with flashflood and mudslides after Kaliforny burning....

Yes, it will rain since I washed the trucks....but the fire ash was a mess and I couldn't see out the windshields....

Mornin everyone, gonna be a not one in Oz today. Temps should hover around 100 today, the ride home will feel like a blast furnace this afternoon.

I discovered Saturday that my muscles aint what they used to be. I did some covering in one of Kay's flower beds with weed cloth and river rock. Took me about 5 1/2 hours to scoop and cover a 9 by 30 bed of plants. Wow, does my body ache. I feel like this guy :olderrr:.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday. I'm going to try and recuperate.

Morning everyone, only double digit heat today. The high to be around 99 this afternoon, we had a cold front go through last night. This mornings temps were actually higher than yesterdays at 77 with 68 % humidity, I think the weather people around here are :screwy:
