Ron, keep that weather back out west. I have to hit the raod Monday for 3 days in Jackson for a conference (MECA otherwise known as Mississippi Educators Consuming Alcohol), and the weather will be bad enough with just the cold.

They have a conference to train you on how to do it?

Yesterday Mel and I repainted our guest bedroom and now today it is carpet removeal, repaint doors and closets in there. Then it should be done till Thursday when the new carpets arrives. Oh I need to replace the ceiling fan light kit too.

Good morning to everyone. Getting ready to hit the road this afternoon to head for 3 days of partying or something in Jackson, MS...any excuse to get out of working is what I'm being told at work. Weather looks driveable for the trip up, but I'm betting on total crap coming back Wednesday. Not sure if I'll be near a computer, but one can always hope. Bringing my laptop with me, but not sure of the "accommodations". Everyone have a great day or two, and Jim and Patty, you guys get well quicker.

I would swear I was in West Texas...but it kept me from yardwork this weekend...

Blew up to 50 mph yesterday and forecast for more of the same...most of the rain went north of me so we got the blowing dust...what little rain we did get just made the trucks a muddy mess...

So I guess the yardwork will wait for mid-week to get done as this crap is s'pose to last that long...

Stay in and wait the x-games I guess......fortunately, got plenty of beer......

Chance for rain tonight and tomorrow and then snow on Thursday or so. Winds will not let up for the next three days according to the weather guessers.:HaHaHa:

Sorry to hear that Spring hasn't sprung for good up your way Kenny. It's 63 on the way to 75 today. Right now it's cloudy but supposed to clear up. Today is primary day in Florida. Hopefully I can let the vicodin wear off and tolerate the pain from this damned toothache enough to ride on over to do my civic duty. I was up all night. The vicodin is the only thing around that helps, but it makes me sick to my stomach, and codeine drops my IQ about 90 points. It's a question of what kind of misery I prefer at any given time.

Well, I still have 15 minutes to wish everyone a good morning. I am in Jackson, MS, at a conference that I am not really attending. Been workingon computers and network stuff during the daytime and haunting the bar inthe evening.....well at 5 bucks for premium beer, I'm glad I brought a bottle of that good suede stuff. Will be heading back to home tomorrow after we get the stuff we set up for everyone broken down and loaded on the bus. It's nice to get away from regular work every now and then. Bumping into all sorts of old acquaintences including one I played ball with in college nearly 40 years ago.

Hey Ron, come to Kansas cause we got a nice blanket of white stuff outside to keep you warm.:123: Three inches right now and another 3 to 4 on tap for today, the temp is 14 and winds outa the north at 20 to 30 mph. Sure wish my boss would hurry up with my new work lap top so I could stay home during this crap instead of driving 25 miles with all the crazy people out there. 50 mph was safe driving speed on the four lane this morning but these people were passing at 60 to 70 just like there wasn't any ice or snow.

TGIF All. Well the carpeting job in our guest room is done and looks great. All that is left is the custom window shades I pick up today and a new entry door needs installed. God I hate doing doors and windows. Then the furniture. Mel's Grandfathers iron bed and our antique dresser that I need to do some minor repair work on first.

How well thought out was the color selection?

Is it--like, some neutral color?

Just hypothetically--if some biker friend were to stop by and, well, just suppose he accidently spilled his beer--is it going to be, you know, a problem?

Mornin' Durl. . .how the ditch digging go?

Got it done in about 15 minutes. My neighbor loaned me one of those mini-excavators with a trencher attached and it took longer to take it off the trailer and then reload it than it did to dig 80 feet of trench. Nice to have the right tool for the job, and even nicer to have a neighbor who will loan me anything he has when I need it....course that will cost me later, but it's all good!

Well, made it back from my excursion with Dan and he didn't get us lost..... He had several maps with routes all laid out. Although he did miss one of the roads on the way back as it didn't have the correct signeage at the main highway.

Glad y'all had a good time. . .just got in myself. It was windy as all get out but it was a nice day. Meet up with some bikers at Buckhorn and rode with them to Coyotes in Odessa. Must have been a hundred bikes there today easy. . . Most seem to be clubs out here. . .the ones I was riding with asked if I wanted to join. . . I told them I was Switzerland. . . .:dnm:

The good news is that most dentists will make room for you with a toothache. Hope they make short work of it Ernie. Mine hurts just thinking about what youy're going through.

Got an appointment at 11. It's a real big deal for me to be going to a dentist. I have a life long hatred of them due to the incompetence of one of them years ago.

I posted the following on another forum:

Dentists have always held a special place in my heart. Growing up, the local dentist lived and had an office next door. Being the only game in town, everyone went to him regardless of the horror stories they heard.
When I was 11 or 12, I needed a tooth pulled. Never having any dental problems before, I didn't know what to expect and I trusted him like we all trusted doctors back in those days.
He gave me gas to put me out and went to work. The next thing I knew I was awake and he was kneeling on my chest, yanking away on the tooth. He quickly gave me a shot of something to put me out and finished the extraction. For the next few days I was spitting out pieces of jaw bone and I bled for over a week. I ended up with an abcess and ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics.
X-rays revealed that my roots were like hooks and my teeth can't be pulled without first cutting them. A simple X-ray at the time might have saved me from a life-long hatred of dentists, a mouth full of bad teeth and the quack's son Tim getting the crap kicked out of him every chance I got.
I've made an appointment to see a dentist about a mile from here. She has a good reputation and Sam uses her. I'm still terrified.

Well I'm about to return to the dentist to have the tooth yanked. She's going to do it with a local anisthetic and a belly full of Xanax and vicodin along with some heavy duty antibiotic to avoid spreading the abcess around. I've taken the meds and am waiting for them to take hold. I'll be leaving shortly. I may have periods of lucidity later on this afternoon or evening. I'll try to report back then.

Our Family tree must have grown from the same Roots (boo-hiss...sorry, I couldn't help myself)...my teeth were the same...even after he slit my gums and cut the roots, he still had to get on my chest to yank them out...

The military took out my wisdom teeth...hi-speed saw to cut the crowns into 4 pieces then a hammer and chisel to break them loose from the jaw before pulling them...jaundice from that experience...

But as others have said, it sure feels better WHEN it stops HURTING....

I have a crown that is working loose right now...so I should make an appointment before it totally come loose..

I got in my dentist at 3pm. He took xray and it showed nothing. He gave me more anti's and stronger vicodens too. I go back next week when the swelling goes down.
It isn't to bad for pain right now. Need to get another anti in me. ErnieS, glad he got you fixed up.

Oh and morning All.

All things considered, I'm feeling pretty good this morning. Still some pain but I can deal with it with just 1 vicodin every 4 or 5 hours. The test will be if I can skip the one scheduled for 10 AM. If I can, I'm going to fire up the scoot and take a short ride. The bike's been parked since Friday and it looks lonely just standing there in the drive.
It's sunny and 72 out there, on the way to 84.

Cold frnt hit here about 3:30 PM. Temperature fell from 85° to 70° just like that. Windy as a West Texas dust storm, but much cleaner. Supposed to be 36° in the morning when I get up. Maybe I won't get up for it.

We're supposed to get the tail end of that system Friday though likely nowhere near as severe.

For today, it's 75 already on the way to 85. There's a fairly stiff breeze out of the south so a few small storms are likely but won't get in my way. I'm still having a bit of a problem with my stomach doing flip flops from all the meds, but the pain is not too bad. I'm going to go to work and see what happens. The bike's been parked since Friday so I'm in kind of a double withdrawal here.

Mornin all, thanks for the warming thoughts Ernie. We've got about 3" of snow and a base layer of 1/4" of ice this a.m. This is our eleventh snow storm this year with accumulation on the ground. Just when we get the snow melted from the last storm it does it again.:wtf: Have I mentioned in the past that I'm "SO" ready for spring, why yes, yes I have. Next year I'm seriously thinkin of hibernating the whole damn winter, maybe I'll be in a better mood by April.

Now there's a thought that makes my brain bleed!

I worked about 5 hours today. I'm still pretty weak from not being able to eat for almost a week. Pureed fruits, ice cream and mashed potatoes get old fast. I did OK but I'm about beat. With a little luck, I'll be able to sleep tonight instead of little 1 hour naps all through the day. I even had some chicken for supper.

I got about 5 hours sleep so I guess it's getting better. I'm feeling pretty good right now but I haven't taken my penicillin yet. That stuff tears up my stomach! I'll be done with the stuff in 5 more days UGH! and I get the stitches out Monday.

Remember, I "work" for a school district...almost as bad as the Feds about holiday weekends....we still get both Washington and Lincoln's B-days off...no Presidents' Day for us.....(just came off MLK 3-dayer a couple of weeks ago....the only thing I don't get is the long summers off like some pencil-pusher Cajuns.....)

I like my weekend better than Ms_T's.....I did go out and wash wife's truck...damn weather guessers lie again...said 43*...I went out at sunrise and sprayed the truck down....it froze HARD ICE on the truck's roof....hosed it down really good and the sheet metal eventually came up to washable temp...hosed down the storm mess....so I plan out getting out of Dodge before SO gets up and has a honey-do list for me...

Hey Ernie....I am a black coffee drinker and the Cuban place does make some good black coffee...had breakfast and I am waddling...glad I had the HOG to haul my AZZ home...

They fixed about the biggest omelette I have ever eaten: Tortilla de Platano Maduro (the menu explanation was cuban omelette with ripe fried plantains)...dang those things are sweet and filling....

They have a 3 meal menu...so I guess I will be sampling a few....
