Yep, had to do a little jacking and bending and twisting to resquare the frame, and then a bit of tweaking the casing and installing new weather stripping. Sure was cheaper than a new door, but what a rotten job it was to get accomplished. I'd much rather have been in Texas with you guys. Still have my bags in the trunk of the cage for the trip. Better get them out while I'm thinking about it.

As I write this, not much. However, I had a nice little chat with the lawyer Thursday afternoon via phone, and I told him my patience level has dropped below zero. It has been 8 months since that NICE LADY nearly killed me, and I am very upset that she is sitting in her little cocoon thinking that all is well in her world. Every step I take hurts in this winter weather, and it makes me more and more p!$$ed off with each of those steps. I have a meeting at 3:330 PM Thursday, and I told him to have the papers ready for me to sign, all necessary letters informing all parties that he is fixing to chomp their A$$e$, and a definite schedule of when I can expect updates from him on the progress of said proceedings.
In his defense, he has had a bit of personal/family problems (even made some national newwspapers as well as the locals) since he last contacted me, and I do know him and his wife well enough to understand the situation, but now, it is my turn to roar, and that is what I intend to do.

When I got left turned in CT the suit went on for 18 months, but the damage to the bike was handled separately. I got a check from the woman's ins co. within a week.
The damage to the bike is a known, finite amount. I can't see why they won't pay that off while the damage to you is pending.
The damage to the bike really should not be a part of the suit. If it is, then the lawyer stands to collect 30% of that check too.

The problem is probably the lack of demand by MY lawyers against Allstate. The lady DID turn left into me and had to cross several lanes to do so. That is undisputed. The problem was that she had this supposed witness who said she had a protected green turn arrow. The witness was later proven to not have been there to even see the wreck. This all went to asome sort of arbitration taht was insisted upon by Allstate and to which my policy apparently agreed ( I have never seen this in writing). I have never heard the results of the hearing although I was not allowed to participate and the statement from my witness was not used because they couldn't get their computer to make a satisfactory recording of his statement and, well, they go into these things all of the time without these statements (says my insurance adjuster). I got a check from my insurance company for what they were willing to give me for my bike (nearly $18K) from which I had topay off the balance of my medical stuff. Allstate has never made the first offer and has more or less stated taht their witness makes me guilty so screw off. Today, I intend to eat a new ass on my lawyer and get this thing moving. I am not interested in playing around with it any more.
I am also informed by many who have been down this road that this is typical behavior from Allstate and I might as well be ready for a war all the way to the courthouse, and then they will want to talk. It's time for them to meet a pissed-off Coonass, because I am ready for that war.

I gonna kick the weather guesser arse if I see him...at 0400, NWS says 40 and clear....I head to work get about 2 miles hit pea soup fog...just eased back and made it to work...the sun comes up and I see heavy frost on the building roofs...I check back...they revised their observations...37* and fog....gee thanks...

but it was nice riding home from work...sunny and about 60*....but I could have done without the fog this morning....how do I get a job where I can be wrong 50% of the time and just simply revise the observations......well was it 40 or was it 37...was it Clear or %$# pea soup?????

Local NWS hourly reports are inop this morning...the NWS just east of the Grapevine Pass says 33*F with 18-31MPH winds...so they will be 31+MPH at Gorman...where the valley/mtn pass meets the desert pass...

Mornin everyone, cold here as well. 17 lowly degrees as we speak with snow flurries expected tonight again. Next week brings lows in the teens and highs in the upper twenties, I think it's time to get the ice fishing equipment out. Lakes otta have about 8 to 10 inches of ice on them. Ought to be safe enough for dropping a line or two.:fishing:

Weekend is already planned out for me. Getting the shovel head farther along with rear tire, wheel, and brakes on rear and front. Only have bars, gas tank, seat, and a little electrical work to finish up. Gettin kinda anxious to get her fired back up and on the street.:241:

Keep the rainsuit handy for the next 5-7 days...weather guesser is saying wave after wave is coming onshore on the Left Coast...we have on and off again light rain predicted for the next 5 days...

Monday, I drove a Uhaul truck through LA in light rain...that was a trip...actually most folks were being pretty good..saw a couple close ones and drove past a couple already happened crashes....

The Red Bike came home in the back of a UHaul...first time in my life one of my bikes came home not under its own power...had a complete electrical loss in the middle of Nowhere, AZ...let the smoke genie out of the bottle...saw smoke come up through the tach face as it shutdown....85mph and purring to complete meltdown...it is in the shop having them look at it...I don't have tome right now to see if it is just a shorted wire or something more....

Yep, could be a DAS...all control wiring goes into the headlight housing and then back out...so a rub in that area could cause a short and fried the tach...that is what I am hoping...

The winds were terrible crossing the desert....one of the rubber washers that isolate the bolts from the windshield lexan tore due to vibration of the wind (85-95mph sustained speed might not have helped either...40 mph winds and twisting the grip spell lotsa buffetting)..it was a cold, windy ride...but I ENJOYED every minute of it....

Yep, crappy weather for several days coming onshore...no more riding for me this week...one in the shop and the Ultra is clean and parked in the garage from the last rain ride...so I think I will skip this one...

It's cold as...........as...............er...............as cold as the south pole where those damn penguins live, yeah, that's it.:HaHaHa: Temperature says zero (goose egg) here this morning. I know, I know, you folks up north are probably colder than we are but we don't normally get temps at zero or below down here in central Kansas. The norms are around 20 or so and I can handle that, but zero and below, I'm sorrrrrrrrrry.:241:

At least the weekend is supposed to warm up into the fifties for highs by Sunday. Can you say afternoon ride Mr. Rogers (hell yeah)!!:071:

Can't get that cold in Kaliforny....but I5 is closed since yesterday and may stay closed for several days...that is making the freeway I take to and from work 100 times more congested...here is something from this evenings CHP dispatch log...they are having trouble getting patrol 4x4s in and out of their office parking lot on top of the mtn pass..(fyi....CORDS= county road dept)

Ron, keep that weather back out west. I have to hit the raod Monday for 3 days in Jackson for a conference (MECA otherwise known as Mississippi Educators Consuming Alcohol), and the weather will be bad enough with just the cold.
