All overcast here this AM with temps supposed to start dropping. Got a few errands to do and getting a new headliner in the cage at 9. No cooking to do today for the first Thanksgiving in nearly 30 years that I am not in the kitchen. I already miss it.

BTW, the towers of Harley carcasses came last night and unceremoneously dragged the remains of my old ride to wherever. I am officially Harley-less today. Sort of sad, but at least now I don't have to look at her every day in that sad condition.

It was supposed to be dinner at 1:00 PM.

Then it was changed to 6:00 PM.

Then it was changed to, "Dad and Margaret are taking us out to dinner."

So what I am doing today is riding out to Kay's Motorcycle Mania in Nolenville to have a Thanksgiving dinner with friends there. Then I am coming home and watching football and sleeping on the couch like you're supposed to do.

Why do things have to be so complicated?

A Fine morning after to you All.
I hope your day was celebrated with family or at least friends.
Mine was awsume to say the least. I and Mel and my mother in law all cooked our rears off to feed 7 with far, far more food then needed.
But there was left overs galore too.
No football was seen. Not needed at that time. Old stories and daddy(92) playing the piano was heard, that is a seldom heard thing nowadays.

It is traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year. Many, if not most, of the retailers go from being in the red, to being in the black for the year today.

The "official" start of the Christmas shopping season and the reason your newspaper has been so heavy these last few days.

Yeah, you could't get into Wally World's parking lot on a moped this morning. Good morning, everyone. The temps really dropped all day yesterday and the sound of the heater actually kicking on work me up. Waiting for the 1:30 kickoff of LSU and Arkansas. Felt funny not to have any dishes to contend with today as I usually do after Thanksgiving. Going out to eat has its advantages...especially when someone else treats.

Morning All. Hope your day is a good one.
It is closen in on the weekend now and it will be a good one here.
Sat spent washing up the bike and then decorating it for the big toy run in Merritt Island, Fl. on Sunday.

December 2, 2007 Merritt Island, Florida
26th Annual Brevard Chapter ABATE Toy Run
Sponsored by Abate of Florida Brevard County Chapter
The toy run will be leaving Merritt Square Mall at 12:00 pm. Ride fee is an an unwrapped toy or a $10.00 daonatin. Proceeds benefit local charities. For more information call (321) 452-9792, click here to send e-mail, or go to http://www.abateflorida.com/chapter_locator/Fl_Counties/brevardcounty.html .

Last year they had over 20,000 bikes there. 3.5 hours to get them all going out of the malls parking lot.
It is a total blast. 20 miles totally closed off. Average speed is 30-35. Kids line the whole distance.
You are discouraged not to through candies but Mel throughs $1.00 stuffed aminals in baggies to the kids as we go by.
We love it.

:polar:I left out of Seminole Wednesday night for Cowtown. . .I hear Seminole had snow begining Thanksgiving Day and ended up with around 8 inches of the white stuff. Fort Worth got a few flurries, but nothing major. I didn't run into trouble until the drive back to Seminole on Sunday. I encountered a virtual onslaught of the stuff starting in Abilene. I've had a little experience driving in snow and ice. . .very short distances. . .but nothing like that. The highway was covered and pretty busy with holiday travellers going back home. It took me five hours to drive 250 miles. The cars going 80 that passed me by were the worst trouble I had. Funny thing is I seemed to recognize some of them further down the road. . .they were the ones spun out in the median and on the shoulder of the road! :D By the time I got to Big Springs it was just wet. There was still some snow on the road between Big Springs and Seminole, but it wasn't bad. I had to deal with a little dense fog, but that was minor compared to what I'd been through. . .

Seminole is good. I can't wait to get into my own place though! Whew! but I'm tired of hotels!

Good morning folks. This is day 8 of a headache that feels like someone is sticking their thumb in my right eye. It's gotten worse the last couple of days and I've surrendered to the Vicodin that has sat unused since I broke a finger 9 months ago.. Between the Vicodin and an antihystomine, I'm a bit loopy and wouldn't trust myself on the bike. I'm out of smokes except for the Salem Ultralights Sam left for me. It looks like I'm going to stagger to the convenience store up the road a ways.

What's the doctor say?

I've never had a headache in my life. <sorry> I don't know what one even feels like but if they are like what Tailfunner gets, then 8 days would be about 7 days over my limit.

ErnieS

A headache that goes that long sounds like an infection is going on somewhere in the head. Could be a sinus infection by your description.

Ernie, I joined you in the Vicodin tonight...too much ladder climbing and crawling through the ceiling areas pulling cable this week...

So I can be the first to say Morning Folks...but unfortunately I haven't gone to sleep yet...my alarm goes off in 3 hours....doubt that I make it to work and like Ernie said no bike for sure....

Mine are nagging injuries...I can't imagine a week long headache....take a double dosed and get horizontal....hope you feel beeter soon....

Morning everyone. Hey Ernie, maybe you should go see the doc.... Having a headache that long just ain't natural. That's how my daughter's problems started. Get it checked out.
Ron... By the sound of it, you probably should take the day off. The company will have to do without you. I used to work through all sorts of crap at my last job but when they downsized, I was still just another number... so do what's best for you.

Hope everyone has a good Friday!

Good morning everyone and TGIF! Ernie - go see a doc. If that's a sinus infection it won't just go away - you have to have antibiotics. That's a HEAD ache - that's where your brain is - don't mess with that.

Drank a pot of coffee...looked at the weather report and radar...some light rain in the mountains 45 miles away...nothing forcast for my neck of the woods...So I ride the Ultra...

Hour after I get to work...light rain...enough to muddy up the dust on the bike...nasty, muddy, water-spotted bike to ride home and at least rinse and spray with detail cleaner...at least my current pain medication comes in liquid form from a 12 oz bottle....POETS..........

Daryl...weather is a bit nicer today...started out at 39* and overcast at daybreak...went out and hosed down the sidewalks and driveway of leaves and crude from the rain...washed both trucks....by that time it was sunny but still cool....BUT SUNNY...

Showered and out came the Hammer...cruised around the differnet bike shops to see if anyone was having good accessory or clothing sales....for as bad as they say the economy is..none of the local shops are moving off the dime...maybe an after Christmas sale cuz they ain't geting my $$$ right now...

Dan, the trip to NO is about 100 miles. Going tomorrow after work and probably will take Friday off because I will not get back home until pretty late. I haven't been to NO since Feb after Katrina when I rode my Harley through the place. Where I have to go tomorrow, I will probably irritate most of my family when I show up armed because they are in a place not deemed very safe after dark in NO. TFB for them. Robes are nice, kind of like kilts, no one knows what's under them.:HaHaHa:

Mornin all, 31 and finally dry here in Dorothy land. Fog was thick last night and hazy this morning though. I'm vegging this weekend with venison, pork, and seasonings. Gonna make up about 25 pounds of bratwurst for the smoker, it's gonna be good. Yeah, I know it doesn't sound right with the meat and all.:HaHaHa: GF says I'm crazy making that much but hey, I may have friends coming over. Cold beverages are available as well as warm ones.

Good very late morning to all. Been sipping coffee with Mom all morning. For those of you interested, the latest installment of the Scam Baiting with Nigerian idiots is posted. These guys are really something else.
Was on the highway until late last night. Had the choice of spending the night in the boonies at my sister's place of coming home. My place had more appeal. New Orleans still does not inspire any confidence in me after the sun goes down.

Tonya, what did the ss7 carrier problem turn out to be? Just curious.

Tonya, what did the ss7 carrier problem turn out to be? Just curious.I don't know for certain, only that it was on the customer end in their equipment. . . we proved it good through the various connections in the co and turned the ticket back to them. . . had a second one today on a different ss7. . .had a chain of co's on the phone with each other putting up loops and testing between them. . .it's too cool, but a bit confusing and nerve racking for someone like me that knows just enough to be dangerous!

I cut an in service hi cap to a new cable/pair. . .lesson learned today. . .do not grab both the tip and ring wire at the same time! :071:

Word docs kick my bootie. . .each one I've looked at so far has been different from the last. . .I spend a lot of time drawing diagrams so I can visualize all the connections in the loop. . . hopefully I'll get better at that. . .soon!

I'll have to cross stitch that one and frame it for the office wall. . . :D

My trainer and I are moving from his office in Midland to my office in Seminole next week. We'll inventory all the equipment and tools so I'll know exactly what I have and what I need. . . He keeps shoving a tool in my face and going "Do you have one of these?" I just laugh at him. . .There is an amazing array of gadgets to play with!

Good morning everyone. It's beautiful out today! We have to work in a ride. Last night we went to City Walk - a big party in Mt. And my office party is tonight. Enjoy your Saturday!

I have one solid week of vacation left this year that was scheduled for Christmas week, but it's now designated for the "big move" on the 17th of this month. . .my kids are flying to Colorado the 23rd through the 27th so they wouldn't be available anyway. . .I keep reminding myself I raised them to be independent and that's what they are. what did you cook? I'm starving!

Good morning, all. Tonya, this dish would hve gone over well where you're at...got the idea from a substitute teacher. I got a nice ham and stuffed it with strips of fresh jalapeno pepperes then injected it with an assortment of fruit juices and baked it. Kept reinjecting the resulting juices from the cooking until I couldn't stand the aroma anymore and then pigged out on it. Outstanding. The remains got thrown into a pot with them big lima beans and simmered all day Saturday. You vets all should remember C-Ray days with that good old ham and M.....F.....!
Also had a boneless chuck roast that needed attention so I simmered it down with a lot of assorted seasonings until I got a nice gravy out of it and served it over rice...got me through football yesterday. The cleanup is now officially completed.
