I am the Texas Chairperson for the 4th Annual AT&T Pioneer MRFTT. I am also ride leader for the Abilene leg of the ride. The ride will be held September 20. We have six starting points, Abilene (West Texas), Austin, Mansfield (DFW), San Antonio, Waco and Wichita Falls. Our destination point for all six cities is Kay's Motorcycle Mania in Nolanville, Texas (which is in the heart of Dineroland .) Starting point addresses for each city can be found on our website . . . http://www.motorcycle-run-for-the-troops.org/ . Riders can register and pay online, as well as through the mail. We also accept sponsor donations online. For a $100 donation we will put the name of the person or business on the back of our ride t-shirt. I'm posting a pic of our ride shirt from last year.

Kay is renting her place to us for $1.00 and The Patriot Guard Riders, CenTex Chapter, is donating brisket and beans for 1500 folks. Thank you Kay and the PGR! I love these people! All of our folks donate their time, and we have very little overhead which enables us to donate the vast majority of our proceeds to military charity organizations chosen by each start city.

I would love for y'all to come ride with us!

Dang it girl! Couldnt you have scheduled it for August? Its unbelieveable how open August is besides Sturgis and the Milwaukie event. I guess Im going to have to find some sandy beach if Florida or something....maybe next year.

Cool shirt Ms. T.Thank you Mr. SH. I can't accept the credit for the design, but I sure do like it. I'm not on the t-shirt committee but I think we're going with black shirts with the gold print this year. I think it's going to look great! :Angel_anim:

We are going international! I got an email from a gentleman on another forum yesterday. He's going to post our flyer and pics from last years ride in forward positions in Afghanistan. I am so thrilled I actually got tears in my eyes. I know they can't ride with us, but it sure feels good to know that they will see our flyer and know someone is thinking about them.

Made my day! :stars:

One more conference call, one more day of work, two days until the ride. If y'all are the praying kind, please say a prayer for the safety of our riders. This is ALWAYS my major concern and the thing I worry about the most. All of my committee members have been furnished with a copy of the Accident Scene Management guide, we have chase vehicles, we have police escorts through the towns, and we've never had a rider go down. Please God, keep them all safe. :Angel_anim:

:polar:Hey Bear. . .yes, everyone had a good time. We don't have the final count yet, bikes, or money. Everyone is trying to catch up on work work now that the ride is over, but I'm thinking somewhere close to 500 riders and I can't even guess how many at the gate. It was a great ride and everyone I talked with said they really enjoyed it and that it was even better than last year.

We had our first major accident. A newbie on a trike conversion. Witnesses say the conversion came off the bike. She went down hard, was careflighted and is in serious condition. Lots of factial cuts from the bubble shield on her helmet. . .lots of crushed and broken bones. She will recover, but it's going to be a hard row to hoe. I feel really really bad for her. I don't know what we could have done to prevent it though. Lots of great pics on the website. . .check em out! http://www.motorcycle-run-for-the-troops.org/2008/photos_tx.php

Was there a defect in the kit?

I was told that it appeared it came loose as opposed to a bolt breaking. I wasn't there and I never saw it, so I can't say for sure. I'm sorry.

Yes please. Company email or personal.
