A thought just occurred to me. . .has anyone decided on which hotel we're staying at and if so, has anyone made reservations? I know I made a reservation last year at the Lazy T for this year, but with all the happenings since then, do we still have reservations?

I'm in the same dilemma babe, evidently it isn't a busy place in May if we're waiting this late to get reservations in. Which Motel is it guys? Vacation plans have already been made for that weekend and sounds like fun.

I think we all made reservations at the Lazy T before we left last May.

Let me know.

I just called the Lazy T and the fellow that I need to talk to was busy at the moment. He is going to call me back after while and I will post up the info.

He did say that he has the names and he was glad to hear from me/us.

I just want to check on the prices the new owner wants.

We have six confirmations and holding three more rooms.

I renegotiated the rates with the new owners. I hope that was okay.

$30.00 for one person. $38.00 for two people. That's only $5.00 less than we paid the last time, but I couldn't bring myself to talk him down any more than that. I do have some morals, after all.

Y'all can contact me for rooms or call direct if you want. Ms_T, phreak, Txhawg, Little Bear, Polar Bear and myself are already confirmed.

Okay, everyone keep your fingers crossed. My Lab, Husker, has come down with a virus and I'm hoping he snaps out of this before we leave. If not, I'm afraid I'm going to be nursing a sick dog when it is time for us to leave for Tonya's. My vet is on vacation and I am trying to find a clinic that will prescribe some antibiotics without me having to take him in to see them.

It wouldn't be a vacation if I left him in someone else's care because I would be worried sick the whole time we were gone.

I'll keep you posted and Jim, I'll let you know about the room so you can cancel it if need be.

Yesterday afternoon I had to help him up the three steps to the deck, I think it is more of him not feeling well rather than being week. smartass:HaHaHa: Looking for the quickest way. I may still head that way
with Noodles on Thursday. It is 8hrs to Dallas and still leaves a good ride
to Junction.I always seem to be headed to Junction from different directions. . last year I rode Highway 16 from Junction back to Benbrook. I don't know if it's the quickest way but it sure was a nice ride. . Google says I-30 to I-20 to 183 to 377. . .289 miles. . .5 hours and 9 minutes.

Down 16 or 377?

I-30 to I-20 to 183 to 377. . .289 miles. . .5 hours and 9 minutes.

goto maps.live.com and use their directions from dallas to junction. that's the route it gives as well as the "fastest" but.............. I'm willing to bet that I35 south to georgetown then hitting SH29 westbound is the fastest. Or even go a bit further south to 290. that's a bigger road with less in the way of small town stops. ether of the 3 ways but for speed the I35 to 29 or 290 are gonna be the faster in my opinion. the 183/377 route is plagued with small towns so you would get a lot of stop and go slow time.

This is absolutely the best way (in the daytime). 377 into Junction is a great ride, but...................

it is one of the most highly critter infested roads you will ride on after dark.

Depending on what time you get to Dallas, consider IH 35 to 29 and then west to 377 outside of Mason. Go south on 377 to Junction from there. Still gonna have to do it in the dark.

Going all the way to San Antonio and then taking IH 10 west would be the safest after dark but would be a long way out of the way. It would be way too long for a "one day" ride.

txhawg
04-29-2008, 05:13 PM
I take 377 down from Fort Worth. It doesn't take any longer than the freeways. Most of the time you are riding through nothing. I mean nothing, not even gas stations. Isn't that right Tonya?

A Hitchcock Thriller I am sure.....

Have a safe ride and loads of fun even if you Have to put up with Dinero...I so wanted to make this run and was conspiring with Jim to make it...but the bike and my boss had different plans....first my boss scheduled a week of training starting monday...so no way to make it back by sunrise monday and tomorrow the bike goes to the shop for the shifter seal leak...

Ron, I have been having to miss this event, too, because it is at the end of the school year, but we need to figure a way for maybe hitting it next year. Surely by then my idiot lawyer will have done his job and I'll be riding again.

Talked to Noodles a little while ago, just talked to phreak as well. Still trying to get Mongo or one of the Cheeseheads on the phone.

I've got a little issue with the insurance company. They are setting up a temporary, drive-through claim center for hail damage to vehicles and I have to get three vehicles through there tomorrow befor I can leave. Of course, there's several thousand others in the neighborhood who want to do the same thing.

I'm still hoping to leave tomorrow, but the truth of the matter is that it is looking more like I will leave Friday morning.

Yesterday "they" said 10% chance today. Early this morning "they" took the rain chances out.

It is raining right now.

So now "they" say there is a 20% chance.

Hi y'all, just got in and all is well. Kay is feeling the last 700 miles of the trip, she pulled a muscle in the top outside of her thigh some time yesterday. She rode in a little pain today and toughed it out until we could get home. I'm going to either work with adjusting the foot rests on the springer or break down and get the glide Dinero. We're discussing the possibilities now and if we can swing that much for a new bike or completely going through the '92. I'll keep ya posted.

Kay took somewhere around a 170 pictures that we're working on getting downloaded so we can share with everyone.

Damn what a good time we had seein everyone again and getting some gorgeous riding in. Thank you Tonya, for letting us stay a night. Your a great friend to have and we hope to repay ya when you get up our way. Dinero, thanks for being there, your a great friend. We had a great time with everyone there, I'll list them if I can remember everyone.
