Have you ever gone to bed knowing the weather had not called for snow and you wake up to the beautiful white stuff every where??

That used to happen to me when I lived up north. Most of the time it was a workday, so it just made the commute a little harder. Sometimes it would be enough that I would just stay home. Somehow, it looked a lot prettier on those days.

I remember suntaning the end of May in Edmonton and waking up to so much snow that I broke my broom shoveling it off my car!

Or spending the night in West Edmonton Mall where I was working on my birthday (April 12) because we'd had a blizzard while I was there and no one could get out. The bar stayed open all night for us, except for being VERY tired it was kinda fun.

Waking up in a tent in Aug that was covered in snow! That just sucked! it had been nice the day before. Long Lake Alberta>

Years ago when we didn't have a thing called the national media, that was pretty common. It just doesn't happen any more......................

Just sayin,

There's been plenty of times when I expected to wake up to snow and didn't.

Yup... went on a May long weekend run...70 degrees on Friday, snow on the bike on Saturday. Made for some slippery riding, but it was gone by noon. Such is life in the great white north.

I don't know what beautiful white stuff you're talking about, but the crap we got is ugly, cold, and piling up everwhere. Ya gotta shovel it, drive in it, and crank the furnace up, watching dollar bills go up the chimney. You can't ride your bike, ya gotta dress warm, and let the car warm up so your hands don't freeze to the steering wheel.

Yeh, the novelty wore off about 35 years ago...

Well down here in New Mexico we don't see it much and I have always loved the snow!!

Now if I lived somewhere that got snow every winter I would probably feel the same way!

Yea, snow is highly over rated. I must say that this morning here it's beautiful outside though. We had lots of fog last night so everything is coated with frost and we are getting light flurries this morning, looks like a Christmas card picture.

Post a picture. That will be good enough for me.

Yeah in late April one year we got over a foot of show if I remember correctly. But I haven't enjoyed it since I was younger and used to ski a lot. Now I have to shovel and snow blow it and drive in it 200+ miles every day.

Living in Ms we rarely get snow of any sig. amount. I remember as a kid wakeing up one morning to go to school, and my mom saying I didn't have to go if I didn't want to. I was like WOH!!!! Cool!!!! She said look out the window, and to my surprise there was about 8" of snow on the ground!!!!

BTW.........the reason she said I didn't have to go to school.........it had been called off!!!!

Here's what we had a few days ago. That was after the ice storm that went through, here are a couple pics from that. Not a pretty site.
