As many of you know We just lost my father in law. He never had a bllod son so Brother in Law and I got his toys.
Sorry but I gave up the shot guns for this one and would not take 1 million for it.
1979 Marlin 336W with the scope.
Man It was nice to come home and see my new old rifle.
honestly I am so proud of this one. I did add it to my will that if his blood grand daughter ever has a son it is to go to the Male bloodline of Dad.
Going to clean it tomorrow and get a special case for it to go into the safe.

Thanks
This one was his pride and joy "My Deer Rifle" and always took special care of it
NO one other than Glen has fired it and I am not going to yet. Time heals and some day I may scope it in but now is not the time as honestly it hurts to talk about it still.
I was blessed with in laws that treated me as a son.
If Lacy "niece" dont have a son I dont know where to send it but I want this rifle to stay in the his family somewhere and not be sold for bs or the local pawn shop.

A very honorable thing to do Mike.
That is a beautiful rifle.

I love level actions. I'd like to get a 45-70 Marlin Guide Gun in Stainless Steel if they still make them that way.

I too love lever action rifles of all sorts but mostly Winchesters and Henrys in which I have both of. a 1935 Winchester 1894 30-30 and a 2007 Henry H0002 .22.
I will have many other brands in the future too.
MRimmer, I don't know if you know but I will say it anyways. Please do not zip or shut the gun case closed fully when you store it for long periods of time. It needs to breath, even the wood stock mositure content will cause surface rust if it is sealed to tightly.

I was just reading up on the new browning Lever action rifle too.
Now that is a sweet rifle.
