This Sunday, I'll be going for a putt with 30,000 of my closest friends.
This Sunday is the 20th annual Toys in the Sun (http://www.toysinthesunrun.com/general_info.htm) toy run. It has grown into the world's largest toy run with over 30,000 motorcycles participating last year. There were 50,000 + people at the party at Markham park and close to 100,000 people lined highway overpasses and the shoulders of interstates 95 and 595. We managed to fill 10 tractor trailers with toys for needy kids. It took nearly 4 hours to move all the cycles from their starting point at the Pompano Harness Track to Markham Park, 20 miles away.
The weatherman is calling for a 30% chance of rain and a high of about 80*

This Sunday, about 50 of us will be making a run to the Temple VA Hospital to deliver the 400 or so vets there, Christmas presents.
Three runs this time of year. Two toy runs and the Vet run. Hopefully no more PGR runs for awhile. I know. I'm dreaming.
Y'all have a Merry Christmas.

The Big Texas Toy Run is next Sunday. . .I rode it last year and it took 2 1/2 hours to get out of downtown Cowtown. . .I won't be riding it this year, but I think I need to go downtown and mingle with all those bikes! Gosh I love toy runs!
You ride safe Mr. Ernie and enjoy!

FANTASTIC!!!! About 35,000 bikes for the 20th Toys in the Sun run. We pulled out about 15 minutes after the first bike left the track and were at Markam Park at 11:00. The last bikes pulled in at 2:05. The roads were lined with thousands of spectators, the weather was nearly perfect and there were NO accidents. I saw just one santa hat, one bandana and one broken down bike along the way, but there were over 30,000 bikes behind me.
I'll post a few more shots when I sort through what I have but here's 3 to start with.
#1 is the column passing Commercial. #2 is me aboard the Jagermeister Trike. It's a 506 CID Boss Hoss with a self contained cooler to chill the 25 gallons of Jager it carries under the lid you see open behind me. When the lid is opened, the tap platform rises up out of the well by hydaulics.
#3 is a very special man to motorcycling in South Florida. It's Mr. Phil Peterson. Phil opened the first Harley dealership in South Florida in 1954. Phil is still going strong at 83. When he's at one of his 2 dealerships, now located in Miami, he tries to at least say hello to everyone who comes through the door. He's Mr. Miami. Sure as sunshine and palm trees, South Florida loves Phil Peterson. When I took the shot of Phil, another guy asked him if he still rides."Sure" he said, "I rode down to Key West for the poler run last month." Miami to Key West is about 160 miles.

It is a monster! The gas tank must be 30" wide. You see the diamond plate steps that double as passenger floorboards? Well to get off, I had to get my feet up on those and stand up before I could swing my leg over to get off. While we were there, a pretty good looking 40 year old woman asked if I would take her picture on it. Well she was wearing a very short skirt and extremely skimpy, lacy, gold colored panties that went nicely with her red hair.
I trimmed mine last night.... Not a lot, but I did.

My camera was in Sam's hands at the time and she missed it. I had the redhead's camera but wasn't quick enough. Sorry. :(
