If you were planning a long distance ride and could only ask one other biker (on his/her own scoot) to go with you who would it be and why and where would the trip be too.

This one is easy since the trip is already being replanned...I'd go with my regular biking buddy, Billy, with whom I have shared perhaps 50,000 highway miles over the past five years or so. We have an unfinished trip back out to the western states that got shot in the butt by an unfortunate misjudgement on the part of a local driver and my unfortunate being in the wrong place when she decided to make a stupid left turn in front of me. The route for said out west trip is p[retty much already planned and now it is just a matter of waiting for the new bike and break in time for it, and a bit of retrainng my butt muscles for long distance riding.

I just got back Thursday from a 3800 mile trip from Somerset, Ky to Villagran, Tamaulipas Mexico. I only had one riding buddy who was not afraid to ride in Mexico, so I didn't have a choice. Actually, this is the second tome we have made the ride together. The first time was two years ago. It will probably be the last time we do it because the roads have gone bad again. I go down every year, but I usually fly to Monterrey and rent a car or have my friends pic me up at the airport, but in recent years Mexico has really worked on improving their roads, and when we went two years ago, we had a good trip. But this time the roads were really broken through, and the truck traffic was terrible, and the Federales stopped us and we had to donate $100.00 USD each to keep from going to jail and loosing our scoots.

Here are a couple of pictures.

One of the reasons I never take my own motorcycle or airplane south of the border. I believe it is called "La Mordita"!

I live in Science Hill, 3 miles north of Somerset, but I actually used to live 5 miles west of Nancy, Ky and went to Nancy school. PM me who your relatives are. I probably know them.
