Officials say Lake Texoma is expected to go over its spillway but the flooding won't be as severe as initially thought.
The lake's water level was at 639.2 feet on Thursday.
The spillway level is at 640 feet.
Once the water goes over the spillway, it will pour into the Red River, causing flooding in rural areas along the river.
Bryan County Emergency Management said most of the damage will be to pasture and grazing land in the area.
There are about 36 homes in the flood plain.
Officials have warned farmers and ranchers for several days about the potential flooding.
Many of the marinas and campgrounds at the lake are underwater and remain closed to boaters and campers.
