When you gonna be heading off to motor school?

The school is scheduled for July 9-20, 2007 and it is being held here locally. I've been working with one (1) of the instructors and we relocated the track to a better area. It took several phone calls, meetings and official letters but I finally got permission to use the location that was requested. We'll set up the area for training July, 06......

Outstanding!! Glad you're getting to do it local as I'm sure that'll make it easier on you being able to sleep in your own bed and all. Take lots of pics in between turns riding if you can.

I'm using a 2007 Harley-Davidson FLHP for the school because ours aren't in yet. I checked the odometer when I got home yesterday and it only has 700 miles on it. It won't be the same after the next two (2) weeks......

That looks like fun!!
I've been practicing on Wed nights with some folks that use the police cone setups. It's fun and low key. Haven't seen the keyhole yet but the 4-way intersection is there every time. I can ride the outside but haven't graduated to the inside yet. I'm gettin there. Every time I leave there I feel like a better rider.

I'm a SWAT Instructor and we've had some hellacious Basic & Advanced SWAT Schools over my twenty (20) year career. I have never been in a specialized school that has been more physically and mentally demanding as this one. I've never had the keys to a new motorcycle handed to me and seen a big grin on the instructors face when he hears the floorboards being scraped in a hard lean on his ride with someone else riding it. It's been a hard week but damn well worth it in the long run and it's been an extreme adrenaline rush......

All of the high speed stuff is a bitch but it is a lot of fun. Those freaking gosh damn orange cones approach quickly when you are leveled out and headed into the exercises. The right and left 360 is a blast and it looks that there is no way in hell that the motor will come through there but it comes through like a dream with the proper setup. We were doing evasive yesterday, another officer about leveled an instructor because he was anticipating a turn and he was signaled to stop. I just stopped on the circuit after I heard tires squealing and shook my head in amazement. I am basically qualified, the written test is tomorrow and we should be done around high noon.

No remedial training is needed and I'm done except for monthly training that will be done here locally. We are now waiting for the arrival of our new motors and they are supposed to be built this upcoming week according to Harley. I am supposed to go to IPTM Police Motorcycle Instructor School in September at Daytona, FL......

Here is a picture of the Street. You turn right into the driveway before you get to that gravel pile. It's kind of tricky, but I did it last week. I was wishing for my old dirt bike.

I will be riding in sugar sand at the IPTM Police Motorcycle Instructor School in September at Daytona, Florida and that will be a real treat. They also have a mud hole called Tater's Revenge and that is real special also from what I've seen on DVD......

I went to the Bumpus Harley-Davidson yesterday and they have one (1) of our 2008 Harley-Davidson FLHTP motors sitting in the crate. The birch white paint is awesome and this is the 100th Anniversary for law enforcement motors. I completed my registration and I have been approved for IPTM Police Motorcycle Instructor School. There is more fun in my future with sugar sand and Tater's Revenge......
